Sometimes the smallest collections have the biggest stories.
I never really planned to become a Care Bear collector.

It all started back in the 1980s, when I was a little girl and desperately wanted a Care Bear.
I remember begging my Dad for one, and eventually, he bought me my very first Care Bear.
The Bedtime Bear.
And this little bear has stayed with me all these years.
Looking at that first Care Bear now brings back so many memories. It reminds me of being a child, of wanting something so badly, and of the excitement when Dad finally got it for me. 🥹💕
For years, it has been my one and only special bear.
And then, slowly, the collection started growing…
In 2023, I won the Funshine Bear from a claw machine at Thorpe Park. And honestly, winning a Care Bear from a claw machine made it even more special!

Then, in 2025, my Step-daughter and Step-grandaughter gifted me Share Bear for my 50th birthday and Grumpy Bear for Christmas. And my daughter gifted me the Cheer Bear for Christmas too. Yup still in it’s box and plastic cover 😂
Suddenly, my little collection wasn’t so little anymore.

And then came August 2026…
This is when I decided to actually start collecting.
I started picking up the little Care Bears Eco Friends and the Care Bears Ooshies, and before I knew it, I was hunting for the ones I was still missing. My collection is almost complete, which is both exciting and slightly dangerous for my bank account! 😂

My next goal is to complete the Care Bears 40th Anniversary Funko Pop. I got my first one from my partner for Christmas too. Just need to find the rest of it online and see if I can grab a bargain.

My little collection makes me happy
There’s something surprisingly satisfying about finding one you’ve been looking for and adding it to the collection.
The funny thing is, these aren’t expensive or particularly serious collectibles. They’re just little colourful Care Bears. But whenever I look at them, I smile. After a long day at work, when I’m tired and my brain is still running a mile a minute, looking at my little collection makes me feel happy and helps me switch off and destress.
And I think that’s one of the reasons I’ve started embracing collecting as part of my hobbies. It doesn’t have to be about having a huge collection or owning every single item. Sometimes it’s simply about having a few things around you that make you happy.
One day, they’ll have their own little home
At the moment, my Care Bears are still waiting for their proper place. But I already have a plan. I can’t wait to put them all on a display shelf in my workshop, arrange them nicely, and finally see the collection together. And I’m sure I’ll keep adding to it along the way. 😍 Because what started with one Care Bear that a little girl begged her Dad for back in the ’80s has somehow turned into a little collection that brings me happiness all these years later.
And honestly?… I’m completely okay with that. 🧸💕
Until next time,
CeeCee 💕
Making things. Making mistakes. Having fun.
