I didn’t expect diamond painting to become one of my favourite creative hobbies.
It started quite simply, back in 2021, when I was thinking of something creative to do with my daughters over the holidays.
We picked different designs, and it became our little holiday project. We enjoyed sitting doing it together but later on…
Guess who ended up finishing all three?
Yep… me. 🙋♀️😂
Nevertheless, it was a really lovely way to spend time together.
It took at least a month to finish them all, but looking back now, I don’t really remember how long they took. What I remember is sitting with my girls, having those little conversations and creating something together.
And I think that’s when I started to realise that I actually really enjoyed diamond painting.

These weren’t my biggest or most complicated projects, but they’ll always be special to me because they were the beginning of my diamond painting journey.
Then I Decided to Go BIG
By 2023, I’d definitely caught the diamond painting bug.
So naturally, instead of choosing something sensible and manageable, I thought…
Why not make something absolutely enormous? 😂
My friend was turning 50, and I knew she had always wanted a picture of The Last Supper for her dining area.
Growing up in the Philippines, I’ve always associated The Last Supper with dining rooms. It’s such a traditional piece of artwork to have displayed in Filipino homes.
So I had an idea.
Instead of buying her a framed picture for her birthday, why not make one myself?
What could possibly go wrong?
Well… quite a lot when you’re dealing with thousands upon thousands of tiny diamonds. 😂
This project took me around six months to complete as I have to a full time job too.
Six months in between shifts, I was sitting down, opening packets, finding the right colours and placing one tiny diamond after another.
There were definitely moments when I wondered what I’d got myself into!
But when I finally placed that last diamond, I was so proud.

I bought the frame online to the size that I needed and framed it myself too. All ready to hang in her dining area, exactly where I’d imagined it from the beginning.
And that’s what made it so special.
It wasn’t just a birthday present.
It was six months of my time, patience and love, all stuck onto one canvas. ❤️
🧁 Making Something Just for Her
A couple of months later, I was searching for something to give my best friend who absolutely loves baking and then came across a beautiful baking-themed design. It was just so her. So I got it and made another diamond painting.
I wanted to give her something more personal, unique and something I’d made with my own two hands. ❤️

This time it didn’t take me six months, probably only a month. And I remember how satisfying it felt when it was finally finished and I could give it to her.
There’s something really special about making something for someone when you’ve had that person in mind the entire time you’re creating it.
More Than Just a Hobby
There’s something strangely relaxing about sorting all those tiny colours, putting on some music or a show, and slowly watching a picture appear one little diamond at a time.
They’re all very different projects, but they all have a story behind them.
And I think that’s why I keep coming back to crafting. Here’s a video of my Diamond Paintings 💎❤️
You can buy someone a gift… but when you make something yourself, you’re also giving them your time.
I have a couple of designs, I’m still working on so…
Until next time,
CeeCee 💕
Making things. Making mistakes. Having fun.
